2. 1. Data Transmission
Through any data transmission
system ( Internet Included ), it is possible
to transmit wellsite information from remote
wellsites to head office world-wide, a compressed
file automatically encrypted is created and
E-mailed or sent through the data transmission
system to update the head office or any other
remote location. Companies having many remote
locations can choose between sharing one database
only between different locations or assign
a database for every location and consolidate
all of them for management use.

2. 2. Networking
"SKOLMS 1.4"
is a multi-user database system and then allows
the use of multiple PC's @ remote locations,
with each linked together in a peer-to-peer
or server network, 'SKOLMS 1.4' can then be
run over this network allowing one or more
machines to be assigned to each user group.
The peer network does not require specialist
support and machines may be added, or removed
from the network @ any time by choosing an
option on the utilities menu.

3. User interface
'SKOLMS' have incorporated the standard Windows
look and feel into his development of the
data entry screens. This is so that any one
familiar with Microsoft Windows will instantly
feel @ home in the environment. Since a wide
rage of non-expert personnel may be requested
to operate the 'SKOLMS 1.4', it has been a
high priority to make the system as user-friendly
as possible. The information is made so easy
that any user can perform in it. Once installation
finished, the learning for the software does
not take more than a day or two for a normal
user of Microsoft windows. |
